PhotoDeDupe Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 27, 2026
PhotoDeDupe helps you find and remove duplicate photos on your iPhone or iPad. This policy explains what data the app uses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Data We Access
- Photo Library: The app requests access to your photo library to scan for duplicate images, display results, and delete or organize photos you choose.
- Photo Metadata: If available, the app may read metadata such as creation date and location embedded in your photos to support filters (for example, date or location filters).
- App Preferences: Settings like duplicate sensitivity and ad-free status are saved locally on your device.
How We Use Data
- To scan photos on your device and identify duplicates.
- To show previews and allow you to delete or keep selected photos.
- To remember your in-app preferences.
On-Device Processing
PhotoDeDupe processes your photos locally on your device. We do not upload your photos or albums to our servers.
Advertising and Tracking
PhotoDeDupe displays interstitial ads. Ads are served through a third-party ad mediation provider (Appodeal). If you allow tracking via Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT), the ad provider may access your device advertising identifier (IDFA) to deliver more relevant ads and measure performance. If you decline, ads may be less personalized.
- Third-party ad providers may collect information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interaction data, and diagnostics for ad delivery and measurement.
- You can change your tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings.
In-App Purchases
The app offers a one-time purchase to remove ads. Purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment information.
Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following services that may process data under their own privacy policies:
- Apple Photos frameworks (photo access and local processing)
- Apple App Store / StoreKit (purchases and receipts)
- Appodeal (ad mediation and ad delivery)
- Google User Messaging Platform (consent management, where available)
Your Choices
- You can grant or revoke photo access in iOS Settings.
- You can allow or deny tracking in iOS Settings (ATT prompt).
- You can delete the app to remove locally stored preferences.
Children's Privacy
PhotoDeDupe is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
